Contact and support
Operator contact, privacy requests and legal notices: admin@hugosbiketouren.de
Technical support: support@hugosbiketouren.de
Telephone: +49 160 92449605
When reporting an error, the app version, Android version, phone model and reproducible steps are helpful. Do not send passwords, verification or reset links, share links, or unnecessary location or fitness data.
Electronic contact points under the Digital Services Act
Where Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) applies to HBTA, admin@hugosbiketouren.de serves as the single electronic contact point for authorities and the European Commission under Article 11 DSA and for recipients of the service under Article 12 DSA. Communication is possible in German and English. Incoming communications are handled by a person; the contact point does not operate exclusively by automated means.
Reporting allegedly illegal content
If you believe that a public HBTA route share, community tour, description, photo or message contains illegal information, send an electronic notice to admin@hugosbiketouren.de. Explain clearly why you consider the content illegal. State the exact URL or, if no URL is available, the tour, profile or message ID and, where applicable, the room and time. Provide your name and email address and state that you believe the information to be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. For notices concerning alleged offences under Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU, a name and email address are not required.
Where electronic contact details are available, the operator acknowledges receipt without undue delay. The notice and any measure based on it are reviewed promptly, carefully, objectively, proportionately and by a person. Where electronic contact details are available and no statutory grounds prevent it, the operator informs both the person who submitted the notice and the provider of the affected content of the decision. A statement of reasons for a restriction identifies the nature, territorial scope and duration of the measure, the relevant facts and their source, whether the action was triggered by a notice or the operator's own review, any automation used, the specific rule or legal provision applied, and the available means of review.
Do not submit secret access credentials or information about health, sexuality, religion, identity, criminal offences or private locations that is not necessary for the review. As a rule, the identity of the person submitting a notice is not disclosed to an affected user. Further information about the procedure is provided in the privacy notice and terms of use.
Account, deletion and privacy requests
An HBTA account can be deleted using the account function provided in the Android app. If you do not have access to the app, you can request deletion by email using the public Delete HBTA account page. An appropriate identity check may be required. Use the email address above for other privacy requests.
Details about data processing, public route links, community tours and your rights are provided in the privacy notice. The rules for accounts, tours, navigation, the community and sharing are set out in the terms of use.
Maps, navigation and external links
HBTA displays its own bicycle map using MapLibre and loads the map style through maps.mhui.de. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. BRouter calculates bicycle routes within the HBTA server environment. The route line, elevation profile and turn instructions can be loaded before the ride; route matching and voice output take place on the device. Recalculation after a detected deviation requires a connection to the HBTA server.
The built-in search for German places and postcodes uses a locally operated index based on GeoNames data, licensed under CC BY 4.0. HBTA selects populated places, normalises search terms, combines them with the German postcode export and formats the display. GeoNames receives no search queries at runtime.
Google Maps remains an optional external alternative only. HBTA opens the destination and no more than three intermediate points in Google Maps only after your express confirmation. HBTA does not start navigation as part of this handoff and does not transmit your device's current location for it; Google Maps may determine that location using its own location permission and calculates its own route outside HBTA. For previously installed versions up to and including 0.6.8, the transitional information in the privacy notice applies. The app is an aid; traffic conditions, signs, path conditions and personal safety always take precedence over the displayed information. The Google privacy policy and the Google Maps/Earth additional terms of service apply when the alternative is used.
